Network of neuroendocrine tumors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Network Neuroendocrine Tumors (NeT) e. V. is the largest self-help organization for patients with neuroendocrine neoplasias ( neuroendocrine tumors , carcinoid, neuroendocrine carcinomas) and for their relatives in German-speaking countries and is one of the largest NET self-help groups in Europe.

history

The NeT network was initially a group founded in 2000 under the umbrella of the Pituitary and Adrenal Diseases Network . Since the clinical picture and the needs of those affected turned out to be particularly complex, the step to the independent, non-profit, registered association "Network Neuroendocrine Tumors (NeT) eV" was finally taken on July 6, 2005.

The association currently has fourteen regional groups that hold regular meetings and more than 1000 members (as of 06/2016).

Offers and activities

Information about diagnosis and therapy of the disease and the possibility of exchange among those affected are essential objectives of the NeT network.

The association has published the journal DIAGNOSE NeT (formerly Glandula NeT ) since 2000 . It appears twice a year with an edition of 10,000 copies. In addition, brochures on various clinical pictures are published.

The association organizes a national neuroendocrine tumor day every year. It takes place in different locations in cooperation with a NET center. The three-day event includes technical lectures and workshops. A separate block is dedicated to the exchange of those affected.
