The New Apostolic Church at Eichendorffstrasse 54 in Ottobrunn is a modern church building of the New Apostolic Church in Southern Germany . It was inaugurated on January 29, 2006 and replaces an older church building in the same place.

history

With increasing growth of the political community Ottobrunn after the Second World War, some New Apostolic citizens also settled in the area of the young community. In 1951 the Ottobrunn parish became independent, and from 1954 the church services took place in the elementary school on Friedensstraße. In November 1975 the first New Apostolic Church was inaugurated in Eichendorffstrasse near the S-Bahn station. In 2006 this first church building was replaced by today's modern New Apostolic Church according to the plans of the architects A + Trautwein from Munich .

Building description

The New Apostolic community center consists of two cuboid structures, with the almost square church space extending over a height of around two floors and offering space for around 76 worshipers. The building is entered via a single-storey extension, which also houses the community rooms. Several floor-to-ceiling windows and numerous skylights fill the compact white room with plenty of daylight. The street-side window facade deserves special mention, which was designed with elaborate colored glazing by the artist Kurt Entenmann. Opposite the Estremotz marble altar is a small organ gallery with a parapet made of milk glass.

organ

Mühleisen organ

The small organ of the church was manufactured in 2005 as one of three almost identical series instruments by the Konrad Mühleisen company from Leonberg . The sister instruments are in the New Apostolic churches of Geradstetten and Münchberg . With four registers and an attached pedal without a separate register, the instrument belongs to the category of small organs and positives. The loop division of all manual registers lies between h 0 and c 1 . Another special feature of the organ is that the visible prospect labia are all painted on, as the prospect pipes speak inwards. This has the advantage that the organ can also be played with the double doors closed without affecting the mood of the prospect pipes. There is also a chest organ in the church, which was originally built in 2003 by the Harald Rapp company for the New Apostolic Church in Trostberg and moved to Ottobrunn in 2014.
