Neuchatel-en-Bourgogne (noble family)

The Lords of Neufchâtel-en-Bourgogne (also: Neuchatel-en-Bourgogne) come from Neuchâtel-Urtière in the French department of Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .

This noble family does not belong to the family of the Counts of Neuchâtel (Neuchâtel) from western Switzerland, even if there are some extensive family ties through marriage.

Richard I of Montfaucon is regarded as the ancestor of the family . The rule of Neufchâtel has existed since the 13th century.
