The new artillery barracks (also: Hutier barracks ) is a building in Darmstadt .
Architecture and history
The new artillery barracks is part of a Wilhelmine barracks complex built around 1900. The facility consists of five former crew and residential buildings as well as the casino with inner courtyard and the enclosure surrounding the barracks area. The casino building is a brick building . The other buildings were made of plaster - sandstone . The two- and three-storey buildings have slated roofs tower training and small twin tow dormers .
Monument protection
For architectural and city history reasons, the new artillery barracks is a cultural monument .
New artillery barracks today
Since 1948, the new artillery barracks have housed the building authorities of the city of Darmstadt.
