New excavations and research in Lower Saxony is an archaeological journal from Lower Saxony.

New excavations and research in Lower Saxony have been published at irregular intervals since 1961. The magazine was founded by Herbert Jankuhn , who also published it up to volume 6. The Archaeological Commission for Lower Saxony then took over the editing , which it has shared since volume 21 with the seminar for prehistory at the University of Göttingen. To date, 27 volumes of the New Excavations and Researches in Lower Saxony have been published.
