Location and history

The road begins on Grünstraße and climbs about 170 meters south and then bends at right angles towards Königstraße / Hauptstraße. The length of the street is about 230 meters. The numbering of the houses begins on Königstrasse on the left-hand side and runs to Grünstrasse and then back to Königstrasse. The Judentreppe footpath goes off at a bend from Neue Bergstrasse and leads to Fischerstrasse.

The street was laid out as Neue Berggasse in 1708. In 1711 there were already 24 houses and numerous gardens here. In 1724 the street was called "Neue Straße". The plots in the street were small and built with one or two-story half-timbered houses. Craftsmen and small businesses lived here.

The cobblestones from around 1900 have been preserved in the street. In 2011 the road surface was renewed.
