Dusk is an English-language Canadian television station operated by Corus Entertainment and Shaw Media . The broadcaster mainly broadcasts films and series in the thriller , action and mystery genres .

history

The station was approved for broadcasting by the Canadian regulatory authority, the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), in November 2000. However, the station did not start operating until September 7, 2001, one year later. At that time under the station name Scream, the station was operated by Corus Entertainment and Alliance Atlantis.

On January 18, 2008, through a joint venture between Canwest and Goldman Sachs Capital, the station shares in Alliance Atlantis were taken over by CW Media for 2.3 billion Canadian dollars.

On September 9, 2009, the station was restarted under the new name Dusk. On October 27, 2010, Shaw Communications acquired Canwest and the shares in Goldman Sachs Capital. The station is privately owned and has been part of the JR Shaw Empire ever since.

Receptibility

The transmitter is fed into the digital cable network by several network operators. The station can also be received via satellite via Bell TV and Shaw Direct . Furthermore, the transmitter is fed into the DSL network via IPTV u. a. at Bell Alliant , Bell Fibe TV , MTS , Optik TV and SaskTel .
