The Neue Fricktaler Zeitung is an independent regional newspaper from Rheinfelden and Frick for the entire Fricktal , which appears three times a week as a subscription newspaper. The WEMF - certified support is 5'794 (PY 6'014.) Sold or 6'127 (PY 6'351.) Non copies. The Thursday edition is distributed to all households in the Fricktal as a large edition and has a circulation of 39,812 (previous year 38,703) copies.

The owners are the Herzog family from Rheinfelden (79% of the shares) and the Basler Zeitung Medien from Basel (21%).

The Neue Fricktaler Zeitung was created on April 13, 2005 from the merger of the Fricktaler Zeitung and the Fricktaler Bote . The oldest forerunner of the newspaper is the Volksstimme from the Fricktal, founded in 1861 .
