The Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung (also known colloquially as the daily newspaper in its circulation area ) is the second German-language daily newspaper in South Tyrol alongside the Dolomites . The paper sees itself as the opposite pole to the media superiority of the daily newspaper Dolomiten .

The newspaper was created in 1996 as the successor to the weekly magazine südtirol profil and has been published by Arnold Tribus ever since . A team of ten editors and just as many freelancers deal with current regional events and above all with explosive socio-political issues. Due to its controversial and polarizing reporting, the newspaper has been involved in legal proceedings several times.

An online edition has been available since January 3, 2013, and news is also published on a blog.
