The New Journal for Tenancy and Housing Law ( NZM ) is a legal trade journal that deals with the topics of rent , apartment ownership , broker and property developer law , taxes , insurance and the housing industry.

history

Legal journals have been published by the CH Beck publishing house since 1851. At the end of the 1970s, inspired by Hermann Weber , the publisher came to the market assessment that increasingly differentiated case law required the publication of specialist journals for central areas of law. Therefore, from 1980 the publishing house developed special magazines in addition to the Neue Juristische Wochenschrift (NJW), which it had been publishing since 1872 . In 1996, the NJW Tenancy and Housing Law Decision Service (NJWE-MietR) was set up in the area of tenancy and residential property law, including the ancillary areas . The publishing house thus tied in with the German Housing Archive , which it had relocated in the 1930s and which had to be discontinued due to the war. From the NJWE-MietR, the NZM was developed in 1998 and has been published every fortnight from the start. Special issues on certain topics, such as residential property law, as well as summaries of the recently published rental law literature appear regularly. All articles can also be accessed via the Beck-online database.

Editor and editor

The NZM editorial office is located at Beethovenstrasse 7b, Frankfurt am Main

In the initial phase after its foundation, NZM was managed by an external editorial team with the Cologne lawyer Klaus Plönes as editor. In 1998, however, the editorial team (traditionally referred to as the editor-in-chief at the publishing house) was relocated to Frankfurt am Main in order to achieve better coordination with the NJW based there. With the move, the Frankfurt lawyer Andreas Kappus became editor-in-chief.

The editors who provide technical support to the editorial team include a. Markus Artz (Bielefeld), Ulf Börstinghaus (Gelsenkirchen), Michael Drasdo (Neuss), Jürgen Herrlein (Frankfurt am Main) and Elmar Streyl (Mönchengladbach).
