The house with the postal address Neuer Markt 1 is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund on the Neuer Markt on the corner of Pencil Street .

The core of the building dates from the early 19th century. In 1928 the house, which had been partially rebuilt and expanded over time, was redesigned again and received its uniform appearance. The facade was structured, the arched window openings on the ground floor of the three-storey plastered building were designed and the two dwelling houses were added to the hipped roof . The basket arch portal with its front door originates from the earlier development from the 19th century. In 2013, the current hotel owner renovated and redesigned the exterior facade; it now appears in a gray tone.

The house is located in the core area of ​​the city ​​area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 592.
