The Neumayer Canyon is a deep-sea trench in the Haakon VII Sea off the Princess Martha coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located southwest of the Drygalski Canyon and north of the Ekström Ice Shelf .

It has been named since 1997, based on the neighboring Neumayer station , at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . It is named after the German geophysicist Georg von Neumayer (1826–1909).
