The New Era Cap Company is a headgear manufacturer based in Buffalo . The company was founded in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch, a resettled German. New Era is the exclusive manufacturer of baseball caps , which in Major League Baseball (MLB) must be worn by every team during games. In addition, New Era produces merchandise caps for Marvel and DC Comics , as well as the motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson .
Stores
The products are sold both in chain stores and through third parties. Since 2006 it has had its own stores in New York and Buffalo. In 2007 stores opened in London, Toronto and Atlanta. The first store in Germany opened in July 2008 in Berlin. A year after the flagship store opened in London, the second store in England opened in Birmingham. The second German New Era Shop opened in Frankfurt / Main on September 20, 2013.
Models
New Era produces different types of hats, including a. the 59Fifty, 9Fifty, 49Forty, 39Thirty and 29Twenty. The most popular model is the 59Fifty, which is mainly worn in the hip-hop and skater scene. The 59Fifty (model Onfield Cap) is also the model worn by the MLB teams during season games.
