The New Grosvenor Stadium is a stadium in Ballyskeagh , a small suburb of Lisburn , Northern Ireland , which has been used as the home of the Lisburn Distillery Football Club since 2008 under the name Drumbo Park and as a venue for greyhound races.
history
The New Grosvenor Stadium was built in 1980 after the club's old stadium, Grosvenor Park, was destroyed in a fire in 1971. In the almost ten years between the two stadiums, the team played on different courts in the area.
The stadium
The stadium has 8,000 seats, including 1,600 seats. The main stand consists exclusively of seats and is covered. The back straight, which is also covered, offers standing room only. A new glazed building on the back straight that was erected on the back straight on the occasion of the opening of Drumbo Park as a greyhound racetrack, which replaces the grandstand that originally existed there and now offers a restaurant as well as additional seats and boxes, is only used on racing days.
From the left end of the main stand to the back straight, additional standing spaces are arranged in a semicircle. The seating pattern on the main grandstand is called Whites , the nickname of Lisburn Distillery FC .
The playing field is completely enclosed by a sand-lined greyhound racetrack, which in turn is surrounded on both sides by a corresponding railing.
