New Mexico State Route 597 ( NM 597 ) is a 720 m long country road on the territory of the Navajo Nation in San Juan County in the US state of New Mexico . The highway connects US Highway 160 (US 160) with the Four Corners Monument on the Arizona , Utah and Colorado border . It is the second shortest state route in this state, only the NM 446 is shorter , which has a length of about 400 meters.

Route description

NM 597 begins at a T-junction with US 160 in the far northwest of San Juan County. It leads through a desert area in a north-westerly direction to its end point at a toll station . The two-lane country road turns into 4 Corners Road after the toll station, which circles the Four Corners Monument. The speed limit signposted on the NM 597 is 15  mph (approx. 24 km / h).
