New World Computing was an American manufacturer and publisher of computer and video games headquartered in Agoura Hills, California. New World Computing is best known for its role-playing game series Might and Magic and strategy game series Heroes of Might and Magic .

history

The company was founded in 1983 or 1984 by Jon Van Caneghem and Mark Caldwell .

From December 31, 1993 to June 30, 1996, New World Computing was a subsidiary of NTN Communications . It was sold to The 3DO Company for $ 18 million in stock and assuming the company's debt . With the bankruptcy of 3DO in 2003, the New World Computing department was also dissolved.

The rights to Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic went to Ubisoft in an auction .
