history
NYAB's predecessor was the Eames Vacuum Brake Company, founded in 1876 . In 1890 it was incorporated as the New York Air Brake . Until 1912 the company was in intense competition with the Westinghouse Air Brake Company . Arms production dominated the First and Second World Wars. In 1967 NYAB merged with General Signal and on January 1, 1991 Knorr-Bremse took over the company. In 1993, the company switched from control valves type Westinghouse to control valves of type DB-60th
