Torpedo fairchildi is a ray species from the family of the torpedo and lives off the coast of New Zealand at depths from 5 to 1150 m. It feeds on smaller fish that it hunts at night.
features
Torpedo fairchildi has the typical, somewhat wider than long disc shape of its family, consisting of body and pectoral fins . The top is dark gray, the bottom white. The species reaches a length of 100 cm.
