The Newark Bay is a bay on the southeast end of the ridge Fanning Ridge on the south coast of South Georgia .
It was probably spotted in 1819 by the Baltic German seafarer Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen during his Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1819 to 1821, on whose map of South Georgia a bay with the approximate position of Newark Bay is drawn. The name goes back to about 1927.
