Newaukum is a town in the southwest of the US state Washington .

Newaukum is located on County Highway 603 south of the city of Chehalis in Lewis County . Newaukum is crossed by the Northern Pacific Railroad .

The landscape of Newaukum is surrounded by fields, meadows and forests. The Newaukum River flows east of the village and the Chehalis River borders to the north .

According to the US population statistics , 172 people lived in the so-called Newaukum District in 1870 . John R. Jackson, who lived in the " Jackson Court House ", was also one of the residents of the district. In 1910 there were 289 residents in Newaukum. In 1930 the population had risen to 345.
