Ngong is a dying language in the northern province of Cameroon .
The Ngong is one of the jarawoid languages , a subgroup of the bantoid languages . It is seen as a victim of the restrictive language policy in Cameroon, which only allows French and English as official languages and neglects the native languages of the country.
In 1983 there were two people who could speak Ngong fluently. In 1995 only one person could speak the language.
Other names for the language are Gong , Puuri, and Nagumi .
