Ngozi Sonia Okobi (born December 14, 1993 ) is a Nigerian soccer player .

Career

society

Okobi played for the Nigerian first division club Delta Queens until the summer of 2015 . After the 2015 World Cup, she and her compatriot Josephine Chukwunonye moved to the NWSL participant Washington Spirit , for whom she made her debut on August 16 against the Chicago Red Stars . After the end of the season, both players were released from the Spirit.

National team

Okobi took part in the women's junior division in the U-17 World Championships in 2008 and 2010 , as well as the U-20 World Cup in 2012 . At the age of 16, she also made her debut in the Nigerian national team , with which she won the 2010 and 2014 African championships. In 2015, Okobi was part of the Nigerian squad at the Soccer World Cup in Canada. After the preliminary round match against Sweden , she was named player of the game after two assists and one goal of her own.
