Nhial Deng Nhial (born January 1, 1952 ) is a South Sudanese politician . He has been his country's acting foreign minister since August 26, 2011.

Nhial Deng belongs to the Dinka people and comes from the Bahr al-Ghazal region . He is the son of leader William Deng Nhial , who died in 1968 and was murdered in Ethiopia before the Addis-Ababa Accords between Sudan and South Sudan was signed in 1972. His son Nhial Deng Nhial did not initially join the political movement as a member, but only joined the SPLM in 1983 immediately after it was founded. Today he is a member of the highest body of the SPLM, the Politburo.

As a Dinka tribe, he had dedicated his life to the liberation of South Sudan - both as a member of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement and the Sudanese People's Liberation Army. He was closely linked to the personalities and negotiation that took place in Naivasha , Kenya , which negotiated a comprehensive peace agreement between the Republic of Sudan and South Sudan in January 2005. On December 22, 2008, Nhial Deng Nhial became Minister of the SPLM .
