Not wake is a single by the German rapper and singer Alligatoah . The single contains three songs whose lyrics are identical but whose instrumental is different. The single was released in early 2019 under the Trailerpark label and under the music distributor Groove Attack .

The single was presented for the first time on his "Wie Heimat Tour" on January 10, 2019 in Frankfurt . The following day, it was released on various platforms along with the music video.

The lyrical I embodies a person who suffers silently and who does not want to be a burden to other people. In clearly exaggerated scenarios it is repeatedly expressed that the lyrical self puts the well-being of other people above its own.

The single was released with three different versions of the song, with the lyrics being identical in each case. In Do not wake (today) a modern beat with strong lows is used, the version Do not wake (yesterday) is accompanied by a drum computer and Do not wake (the day before yesterday) is accompanied by well-rehearsed drums. The latter was the only one to dispense with an echo effect.

Music video

The music video consists of live recordings of the world premiere of the song on the Like Home tour . The camera work was done by hand and uses a rotation effect in several places.
