Nick & Perry is a German - French animated series with a total of 52 episodes over 25 minutes each, which was first broadcast in 2000. It is about two intelligent, extraterrestrial dogs who are stranded on earth with their UFO and are taken in by humans as pets . Disguised as earth dogs, they try to return to their home planet dogma from now on .

Characters

  • Nick is a tall, orange dog with a proud stature. He likes earthly life, especially television and the beautiful earth dog Sofia, whom he tries to conquer. He is lazy, addicted to pleasure and fundamentally optimistic . Like all dog manners, he is a vegetarian.
  • Perry is a small, blue dog, not unlike a beagle . He is highly intelligent, always remains cool and considered. Perry is exceptionally talented in technology and can build highly complex apparatus out of simple human objects. The easy-going Nick often causes him a lot of trouble, especially when he messes up his return plans.
  • Lucy is a little girl who wanted nothing more than a dog for her birthday. When a UFO crashed overnight in her garden and the normally upright and talking dog manners Nick and Perry had to disguise themselves as earth dogs, she thought they were a gift from her father. Lucy is a very bright, adventurous only child who often acts more like a boy than a girl.
  • Frank is a history professor and a single father. When Lucy thinks the two dog manners are a gift from him, he can't bring himself to disappoint her and keeps Nick and Perry. Frank is often a little absent-minded and gullible.
  • Mr. Smith is Frank and Lucy's spiteful neighbor and a part-time UFO hunter who tries to catch Nick and Perry in non-doggy behavior and then sell them to science.

content

Nick and Perry live in an underground control center, the entrance of which is disguised as a dog house. Often they misinterpret a human achievement or behavior and regard it as a danger from which they must save their landlady Lucy or all of humanity. In addition, Perry tries again and again to build various devices that either bring them back to their home planet Dogma or at least send an emergency signal there. This is often thwarted by Nick's clumsy and careless behavior, or simply reluctant to leave the earth. Many episodes also revolve around the fact that Mr. Smith tries to catch the dogs talking, walking upright or operating a technical device and sets various traps for them.

Production and publication

The series was produced in 1998 and 1999 by Ellipse Animation, TFC Trickompany Filmproduktion and Victory 16. Film Production under the direction of Tony Barnes. Danny Chang composed the music.

It was first broadcast on October 25, 2000 by M6 Métropole Télévision in France. In Germany, the series was the first time on 11 September 2001 to 27 September the 2001 Ki.Ka shown.
