Gon, the Höhlenfratz ( Jap. はじめ人間ゴン , Hajime Ningen Gon ) is an anime - television series from Studio Pierrot has a small stone age boys . Each episode consists of three short stories, from which little Gon emerges sometimes as a hero and sometimes as a loser.
Characters
- Gon is a young boy who lived in a cave with his family in the Stone Age . He is wearing an orange loincloth and has a bald head. He is extremely adventurous , inquisitive and does not give up easily.
- Olly is a gorilla and Gon's best friend. He can only speak short sentences, most of which start with "Olly". Mentally he is a bit clumsy, but has a good heart and with his immense strength he helps Gon out of many tricky situations.
- Papa is the father of Gon and the head of the caveman clan . He has a red nose, a few stubble and a purple loincloth. His great passion is mammoth hunting , but he is often a bit clumsy. He doesn't like it when there is only vegetable soup on the table.
- Mama is Gon's mother and the good soul of the family. She wears a leopard skin suit and a bone in her hair. She is mostly calm, except when her husband has screwed up something again.
- Jane is a girl who lives nearby. She wears a pink leopard skin skirt and a blue flower in her hair. Jane is domineering, self-absorbed, extremely impatient, and loves to scream. She takes advantage of the fact that Gon is madly in love with her and lets him work for herself.
- The three robbers regularly try to enrich themselves with the hunted or with the supplies of the cave family, which Gon can ultimately prevent in most cases.
- Death is represented as a skeleton on horseback on a bony horse, holding a long stick in one hand. Whenever someone is close to dying - usually dad after an unsuccessful hunt attempt - he shows up. However, the dying still manage to escape death in time.
Production and publication
The anime was released in 1996 by Pierrot Studio and directed by Yutaka Kagawa based on an idea by Shunji Sonoyama . The character design was created by Yoshiyuki Kishi . The series was broadcast from March 9, 1996 to April 22, 1997 by the broadcaster NHK in Japan.
The series was first broadcast in German from January 25, 2002 to March 20, 2002 on Junior , later also on SF2 . The anime has also been translated into Spanish.
