Nick Balletto
Dominic "Nick" F. Balletto junior is an American politician and since January 2015 Chairman of the Democratic Party of Connecticut .
Life
Balletto was a member of the New Haven City Council ( Board of Aldermen ) from 1988 to 1989 . From 1996 to 2002 he was chairman of the New Haven Democratic Town Committee and was thus the local branch of the Democratic Party in New Haven. In the 1996 and 2000 presidential elections , he served as an electoral officer in the Electoral College .
In 2011 he was elected vice chairman of the Connecticut Democratic Party. Prior to his election to this office, Balletto was a member of the Democratic State Central Committee and the New Haven Democratic Town Committee . He was also a delegate to the Democratic National Convention . In January 2015, he replaced Nancy DiNardo as chairwoman of the Connecticut Democratic Party, while DiNardo became vice-chairwoman.
In addition to his political activities, Balletto worked as an accountant . In 1994 he founded Balletto, Shariff & Associates for this purpose . He has been one of the Connecticut State Marshals for New Haven County since 1996 .
