Nick Cheung Ka-fai (born December 2, 1967 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese actor and director . He has played in over 80 films. He became known for his roles in the films of Wong Jing and Johnny To .

Life

Cheung spent four years with the Royal Hong Kong Police as a policeman, but left the job after his application to the criminal police was denied. He then worked for Danny Lee Sau-Yin's film production company . His film debut was Thank You, Sir , in which he appeared as a police student. From 1989 to 1994 he worked for the TV station ATV World. He later left ATV and switched to TVB. In 2004 he left TVB and worked exclusively on films. In 1999 he was nominated for his first film award in Hong Kong and was awarded First Prize in 2009 for his role in Beast Stalker . Since then, he has received multiple nominations for the Hong Kong Film Awards and other Chinese film awards.

Cheung met actress Esther Kwan while at ATV. They married on December 8, 2003 in Australia. Their daughter Brittany was born on January 24, 2006.

In 2014, Cheung earned the equivalent of 75 million Hong Kong dollars (HKD).
