Nico Brünler (born February 5, 1975 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a politician ( Die Linke ). He has been a member of the Saxon State Parliament since 2014 .

Education and professional career

Nico Brünler attended the Hohe Straße high school in Chemnitz and passed his Abitur examination there in 1993. He then studied at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences with a degree in engineering and then in Chemnitz with degrees in business administration and economics. From 2000 Brünler worked for a foundry in Chemnitz in the area of ​​accounting and corporate planning , before joining the Bundestag member Michael Leutert in 2005 .

Brünler has been a member of the PDS since 1997, since 2006 as chairman of the Chemnitz city association of his party. In addition, he is involved in various citizens' initiatives.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2014 , he won a mandate on the state list . In the direct election in the constituency of Chemnitz 1, he was defeated by Peter Patt ( CDU ).
