Nicolas-René Jollain (* 1732 in Paris , † 1804 there ) was a French painter.

Life

Nicolas-René Jollain studied under JM Pierre at the Paris Academy. After winning the Prix ​​de Rome , in 1786 he was commissioned to design panels for the Little Trianon in Versailles . He also created frescoes for the chapel in Fontainebleau and for the Carthusian monastery in Paris. Jollain also designed tapestries and created oil paintings, mostly on themes from ancient mythology.
