Nicolas Le Riche

Nicolas Le Riche (born January 29, 1972 in Sartrouville , Yvelines department ) is a French ballet dancer . He held the rank of étoile with the Paris Opera Ballet until July 2014 and was adopted according to the rules of the opera at the age of 42.

Life

Le Riche began his ballet training in 1982 at the Paris Opera Ballet School. In 1988 he joined the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera. On July 27, 1993 he was appointed danseur étoile by the ballet director at the time, Patrick Dupond, after a performance by the Giselle ballet . Le Riches repertoire includes both the great ballet classics and modern choreographies, some of which were specially created for him. Le Riche has also worked as a choreographer . In 2005 he created the full-length work Caligula for the Paris Opera Ballet . In 2007 he created the performance artwork Echo .

Le Riche is married to the ballet dancer Clairemarie Osta , who is also étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet. The two have a daughter.

After leaving the Paris Opera, he plans to found his own ballet company.
