Nicolas Schmerkin

Nicolas Schmerkin (born August 11, 1973 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is an Argentine film producer who lives and works in France.

Life

Schmerkin first completed a degree in biology and computer science. He then worked for four years in Philippe Bober's company The Coproduction Office, which produced, among other things, feature films. In 1998 he founded the French film magazine Repérages and worked from 2000, first of documentaries for television, including movies for the series Short Circuit of ARTE . He left The Production Office in 2001. In the same year, he founded his own production company Autour de Minuit Productions in Paris, which is dedicated to the promotion and production of innovative short films. Since 2004 Autour de Minuit has also been distributing short films worldwide. Schmerkin's greatest success as a producer was the short animated film Logorama , for which he was awarded an Oscar in 2010 .
