Nicolas Souvage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nicolas Souvage was a Parisian horse dealer who rented out carriages from 1662. His company was located in rue Saint-Fiacre, from which the name Fiaker goes back. According to another thesis, the inn in front of which they stood was also up to the saints, or the first fiakers used an image of St. Fiacrius as a figurehead. Nicolas Souvage was therefore the founder of the taxi business .
