Lower Saxony State Prize for the creative craft

The Lower Saxony State Prize for the creative craft has been awarded regularly since 1958 at intervals of up to four years by today's Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor and Transport . It commends designed works of in Lower Saxony established artisans . The state prize, endowed with 5,000 euros, is only awarded to self-employed people.

In addition, two sponsorship awards of 2,500 euros each are intended to encourage and promote outstanding, creative craftspeople up to a maximum age of 35 years.

In addition, a company prize “Success Factor Design” with a value of 3,000 euros will honor a craft business that has implemented “ design ” in the company areas of product, service, marketing, communication and corporate culture in an exemplary manner. The company must also be based in Lower Saxony and be registered in the trade register.

The state award, the two sponsorship awards and the company award are intended to provide incentives and an incentive for craftsmen and craft businesses in Lower Saxony to demonstrate their high level of technical skill and "design competence in order to stand out from other competitors and to position themselves successfully on the market".

In 2016, the planning, organization and implementation of the competition took place in cooperation with the Hanover Chamber of Crafts .
