Niefang (in colonial times : Sevilla de Niefang ) is a place and an administrative district in Equatorial Guinea . In 2008 the district had a population of 4,858 people.
location
The city is located in the Centro Sur province on the mainland part of the state. Niefang is located on the Benito River and is an important transport hub between the Litoral and Kié-Ntem area .
Niefang was traditionally the western border of the tribal area of the Fang and the name therefore also means "border of the Fang". To the west of it lay the areas of the Bantu tribes of the coasts, which were called “Playeros” ( Spanish for coastal residents): Combes , Bujebas , Balengues and Bengas .
