Nigō ( Japanese ニ ゴ ー , Nigō ; real name: Nagao Tomoaki ( 長尾 智 明 ); born December 23, 1970 in Maebashi ) is a Japanese DJ , music producer , fashion designer and entrepreneur . He became known beyond the borders of Japan with the founding of the urban streetwear fashion company A Bathing Ape . The name Nigō means number two in Japanese and refers to the similarity of his works with Hiroshi Fujiwarawho is often referred to as the godfather of Harajuku fashion .

In 2005 Nigō founded the Teriyaki Boyz together with Ilmari and Ryo-Z from Rip Slyme , Verbal from M-Flo and Wise . Nigō co-created the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands with Pharrell Williams . Since 2006, MTV Japan has been broadcasting the Nigō-created television program Nigoldeneye exclusively . A year earlier, Nigō won the Style Award at the MTV Asia Awards.
