Nigel Marchant

Nigel James Marchant (born October 1972 ) is a British film producer .

Life

Marchant began his career in the mid-1990s as a production assistant, special effects production coordinator and later as a unit production manager.

Since 2007 he has also worked as a producer on the first television productions such as The Philanthropist . He has been working for the British film production company Carnival Films since 2011 .

In 2011 he produced the first season of the hit series Downton Abbey for Carnival . Marchant was executive producer for the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons . As a producer of Downton Abbey , he was nominated five times for an Emmy and won it in 2011. He also won an award for Downton Abbey in the category Best Mini-Series at the Banff World Media Festival . There is also a PGA Award in the Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television category and a Golden Globe Award in the Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television category .
