Nihon Zenkoku Sakenomi Ondo

Nihon Zenkoku Sakenomi Ondo ( Japanese 日本全国酒 飲 み 音 頭 , German roughly "The song of the drunkards from all over Japan") is a song by the Japanese band Barracuda that was released in 1979 and is still one of the most famous drinking songs in the Japanese language . The text is by Okamoto Keiji, the song was composed by Beethoven Suzuki (civil: Suzuki Ko).

Verse one of the song text basically gives reasons to drink alcohol from January to December. In verse two, the singer tells of drinking in the various regions of Japan, from Hokkaidō in the far north to southern Okinawa .
