Sigrid Leitner

Sigrid Leitner (* 1970) is a German political scientist , author and professor of social policy at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences .

Education and professional activity

Leitner studied political science and journalism and communication science at the University of Vienna .

She worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Technology Assessment of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna and at the Institute for Social Policy at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , then as a research assistant at the Institute for Social Policy and at the Center for European and North American Studies (ZENS) of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and at the Institute for Sociology of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.

She has been Professor of Social Policy at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences since March 2008 .

Volunteering

Sigrid Leitner is an active member of the scientific advisory board of the Basic Income Network , the German organization of the Basic Income Earth Network ( BIEN ).

Her work topics are above all social policy as gender policy, comparative welfare state research, pension policy, theories of state activity, family policy and communal social policy.
