Nikhil Chopra
Nikhil Chopra (* 1974 in Kolkata ) is an Indian performance artist .
life and work
Nikhil Chopra studied at the HR College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai until 1995 and then art at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda until 1999 . He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and his Master's in 2003 from Ohio State University .
Chopra's work is located on the interface between performance, theater, sculpture, photography and drawing. His performances cover topics such as identity, the role of autobiography and deal with self-expression and self-portrait.
Nikhil Chopra exhibits internationally; he was a participant in the 53rd Biennale di Venezia (2009), Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2014) and documenta 14 (2017).
