Niklaus Bernoulli
Niklaus Bernoulli (also Niclaus , Nikolaus ; * 19 November July / 29 November 1623 greg. In Basel; † 8 March 1708 ibid) was the progenitor of the Swiss mathematician and physicist dynasty Bernoulli .
Niklaus Bernoulli was a spice dealer in Basel , there a. a. also member of the Grand Council . He had 11 children, of which the fifth, Jakob I Bernoulli (1655–1705), and the tenth, Johann I Bernoulli (1667–1748), were particularly famous as mathematicians.
