Nikokreon (conspirator)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nikokreon (ancient Greek Νικοκρέων) was a conspirator against the king Euagoras I of Salamis in Cyprus. But his conspiracy around 375 BC Chr. Was unsuccessful and he had to flee Salamis. His daughter became the lover of Euagoras and his son and heir to the throne Pnytagoras . According to tradition, this connection was the origin of the later King Pnytagoras , who in turn was the father of King Nikokreon , whose name should probably be reminiscent of Nikokreon.
