Nikola Tanhofer
Nikola Tanhofer (born December 25, 1926 in Sesvete ; died November 24, 1998 in Zagreb ) was a Yugoslav- Croatian film director.

His first film as director Nije bilo uzalud was shown at the 1957 Berlinale . The film H-8 , made the following year, is considered his masterpiece and was awarded a golden arena at the Pula Film Festival . Other notable films by Tanhofer are Osma vrata (1959) and Sreća dolazi u 9 (1961), the first fantastic Yugoslav films, as well as Dvostruki obruč (1963) and Svanuće (1964). After directing Bablje ljeto (1970), he accepted a teaching position at the Academy for Theater, Film and Television in Zagreb.
