H-8 is a 1958 Yugoslav film . The film was directed by Nikola Tanhofer and the title refers to the beginning of a number plate that was the only evidence of an accident that occurred in Croatia in 1957.

A public bus collides with a truck on the Zagreb - Belgrade route : First, the course of the accident is shown in fast motion, then the same story is told in detail in a flashback. During the journey, the initially anonymous guests come closer to each other, and a doctor who travels with his son and occasionally has to look after other fellow travelers is discussed in more detail. The son tells a girl of the same age who is suffering from a nosebleed that this is hemophilia and that she will die from it. On the back seats is a Croatian woman who is traveling with her Swiss husband and who is talking to a reporter who is traveling with them. The husband's jealousy soon turns into sympathy. Other characters are the music student Alma, who explains that a fugue can basically be compared to the passengers of a bus. She starts talking to a young man who is sitting next to her. During a stopover, however, the latter abuses her trust and tries to rape Alma. What is happening on board the truck is also illuminated: the driver is on the road with his young son and another passenger, and the two of them quarrel. Shortly before the collision, the characters are again discussed in more detail, who at that moment did not yet suspect their death.
