Bounded by the Saale and the Wisenta, halfway between Schleiz and Ziegenrück, in the landscape of the Thuringian Vogtland, the former manor chapel is nestled in the small village of Dörflas. It can be reached by car via a newly developed path from Crispendorf, for cyclists via the Saale cycle path and on foot via the European long-distance path E3 and the Saale-Orla path.

history

In 1935 the church was built as a private chapel for the then landowners, the Karl-Wilhelm Wetzel family from Gera. The consecration by Church Councilor Reuter from Greiz took place on Reformation Day , October 31, 1935. The builders used the Trinity Church in Gera as a model . The design came from the architect Macht from Gera and was carried out by master builder Raabe from Crispendorf. In 1945 the chapel became the property of the Crispendorf parish as part of the land reform. While the manor was destroyed by supporters of the communist movement in 1948, the chapel was preserved. In the years 1998 to 1999 an initiative group restored the small, now abundantly dilapidated church, in laborious self-work. On Whit Monday 1999 the church was consecrated in the name of Bishop Nicholas . In a competition held by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) in December 2010 as part of the "Schwefelhölzchen" campaign, the band emerged as the winner among the letters sent in and won the title of "Smallest Church in Central Germany".

In addition to the monthly church services, after the installation of a new electronic organ, spiritual evening music is also held in the small church. Baptisms and other church official acts also take place again. Visits are possible.
