Nikolay Khozyainov ( Russian: Николай Юрьевич Хозяинов Nikolai Jurjewitsch Chosjainow ; born July 17, 1992 in Blagoveschtschensk ) is a Russian pianist .

biography

Khozyainov started playing the piano at the age of five. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in May 2015. He then studied with Arie Vardi at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media .

In 2010 Khozyainov reached the final of the XVI. International Chopin Competition in Warsaw . In 2012 he was awarded 1st prize at the International Piano Competition in Dublin and 2nd prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition . In 2016 he received the audience award at the Kissinger Piano Olympics . In 2018 there was an appearance at the Kissinger Sommer in the concert series Schwarzweiß , in which pianists such as Herbert Schuch and Igor Levit also performed.

His debut CD with works by Chopin and Liszt was released in 2011. A second album with works by Chopin followed in 2012.
