Nikostratos (son of Menelaus)
Nikostratos ( Greek Νικόστρατος ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
According to an old tradition, he was a son of Menelaus and Helena , and thus a brother of Hermione .
In later versions it is told that Nikostratos and Megapenthes were the sons of a female slave, which is why they left the line of succession and instead Orestes , the nephew of Menelaus, became king of Sparta . According to Rhodian legend, the brothers drove their stepmother Helena out of the country.
