Nils Collett Vogt (born September 24, 1864 in Oslo ; † December 23, 1937 there ) was a Norwegian writer of neo-romanticism .

Life

Vogt was the son of the engineer Jens Theodor Paludan Vogt and his wife Johanne Collett . He rebelled against his conservative family and was then sent to the cathedral school in Hamar . There he met Tryggve Andersen , with whom a close friendship developed. After graduating from high school, Vogt studied law from 1884 to 1887. He then worked as a journalist and traveled to Denmark and Italy . He lived for a long time in Sicily and France .

Vogt's work consists of prose , dramas , workers' songs and, above all, poems . In his works he criticizes the conservative bourgeoisie.
