Nils Fischer (born February 14, 1987 in Bielefeld ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defender , who can also be used in midfield , played for TuS Eintracht Bielefeld and VfL Schildesche in his youth , before moving to Arminia Bielefeld in 1998 .

He played his first Bundesliga game for Bielefeld on October 21, 2007, when he was substituted on in injury time at Karlsruher SC . In January 2009, Fischer was awarded to Wuppertaler SV Borussia until the end of the 2008/09 season . After his return to Arminia, he extended his contract prematurely until June 30, 2012. On June 17, 2011, Nils Fischer announced his move to VfL Osnabrück . He made his debut for VfL on July 23, 2011 in the away game against SV Darmstadt 98 . After two years and 68 third division games for Osnabrück, Fischer moved to league competitor 1. FC Saarbrücken in the summer of 2013 . He has been under contract with the regional division FC Homburg since the 2014/15 season . Fischer played 80 games for Saarland, in which he scored 5 goals before a serious knee injury forced him to end his active career in spring 2017.
