Athletic career

The first sporting successes of the football department founded in 1910 were achieved in the 1930s when the first team marched through from the 3rd district class to the then second-class district class. After the Second World War , Eintracht rose to the district class in 1946, but rose directly from bottom of the table. In 1948 they returned to the district class after Eintracht prevailed against SV Brackwede in the third decider . Around 20,000 spectators followed the three games. After several years in the middle of the table, he was promoted to the 2nd Landesliga Westfalen in 1951. After the dissolution of this division, Eintracht belonged to the state league from 1952 , which was then the highest amateur league in Westphalia. With three points behind Minden 05 , the team was third from bottom and had to relegate again. The low point of the season was a 1: 8 home defeat against SVA Gütersloh .

In 1958, Eintracht was district class champion with two points ahead of Viktoria Rietberg and returned to the state league. As with the first attempt, Eintracht had to decline again immediately. Two 1: 6 defeats against Union Herford were compared to a 5: 0 win over BV Bad Lippspringe . In 1963, Eintracht fought for a long time to regain promotion, but was only runner-up in the district class, two points behind VfB Schloß Holte . A year later, the team was relegated to the district class and in 1966 even found themselves in the 2nd district class. The Eintracht became the elevator team and only reached the upper house again in 1980, which, however, also depended on a league increase from one to two seasons. After a runner-up in 1983 behind the third team of Arminia Bielefeld succeeded two years later, the rise in the district league.

After two years in midfield of the league, Eintracht had to relegate again in 1988 when one point was missing from Westfalia Wiedenbrück . The direct resurgence was followed by relegation in the 1989/90 season as bottom of the table. In 1994 and 1995, the team was runner-up in the district league A before Eintracht had to relegate in 1998 to the district league B. Although the team managed to get promoted again, Eintracht missed qualification for the single-track district league A in 2001. Two years later, the first team fell down to the district league C and thus played in the lowest division. The direct re- promotion was missed due to the worse goal difference compared to the third team from Türk Sport Bielefeld . After another runner-up behind Hilal Spor Bielefeld and FC Altenhagen , the first team only made it into the district league B in 2007, before advancing to the district league A four years later.

With Gerd Siese and Nils Fischer , Eintracht produced two future professional footballers. Both were active for Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga .

Königsbrügge sports field

TuS Eintracht's venue is the Königsbrügge sports field in the Sieker district. The sports field has had an artificial turf field since 2008 . Before that, the playing area was a mixture of grass and ash . The Königsbrügge was originally a parade ground and was converted into a sports field in the early 1920s. In 1924, the Northwest German Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Festival took place on the Königsbrugge, which was attended by around 60,000 spectators. A year later, bike races were held on the site in front of up to 10,000 spectators. In 1953 the footballers of VfB 03 Bielefeld played against SuS Niederschelden / Gosenbach as part of the Westphalia Championship on Königsbrügge and won 7-1. From 1956 the police SV Bielefeld organized its sports festivals on the Königsbrügge, which in previous years attracted up to 10,000 spectators.
